Finally I was able to string two significant winning nights in a row. This has been a big struggle this month. This session was basically only two different players, jojo37 and tuomohut. Both of these players i’ve played before and had notes on prior to this session. Jojo37 was first and he is known for buying in for low amounts and playing tight/aggressive on mediocre hands. He also LOVES to trap with very strong hands pre and on the river. This first hand illustrates a big mistake he made by not raising KK pre
I messed up posting the hand history so will just have to write out the hand. I was dealt 10 8 and was in the bb pre and he just called $3 and i checked. The flop came out 7 9 j. I checked and he bet 12. I immeadiatly decided to make it 36 as I knew that he could have a big hand here…he just calls. The turn is a Q and i bet out 70 almost the size of the pot figuring he might have two pair. He calls. The river was an Ace and i bet out 150 he thinks for a while and calls with KK. He played this hand very poorly as by not raising KK pre he has no range of hands i could be on and just a pair isn’t any good against two random cards where I was betting pot three streets in a row.
This second hand I bad beat Jojo but he played it so poorly letting me catch a queen on the river to beat his AA

That match with Jojo ended with me winning about 400. I then went on to play Tuomohut and he is also a guy i’ve played before. He is one of the weaker players who has a very weak/tight style and loves to play very small pots which allows you to draw cheaply and get paid off when you hit big hands. I have two hands to illustrate against him.
The first one illustrates him just overvaluing a weak hand and not believing my three barrel bet.

The second hand was the hand of the night. I saw that because it illustrated my ability against tuomo to call with any two cards pre for a cheap price and when i hit I was able to win a huge pot against him.

I wasn’t sure if he had a king but I knew by playing it slow I would only win a small pot and the risk in raising the flop was not even close to the reward I would get if he had a king which he did.
I was able to net 500 off Jojo as I went cold towards the end of the match and he’s very tough to play when not hitting any hands. I also lost 150 to a quick hit and runner early in the night so the nights total was +700. That brings the years total to now +2300. It is good to just gain a little momentum and hopefully I will be able to pull one of those big winning weeks to make up for a slow start in January.
