Sill in a state of shock!  So friday I was extremely sick all week and decided I couldn’t go to work.  I saw there was an FTOPS event at 2pm that was a $200 buy in.  I qualified into that through a $50 satellite and also played a couple other smaller buy in tournies.  I ran bad/took a couple bad beats in those other tournies and then the FTOPS event started.  I thought it could be something special when like the 5th hand i have 10 10 and just call a raise pre by IWEARGOGGLES (who is a regular). the flop comes 4 6 8 and he bets like 200 i make it 600 and he instashoves…i didn’t belive him and called and he showed 5 9 and it held.  I then just played very tight and took advantage of good spots.

I was able to cash pretty easily with about 25k but had the big stack directly to my left and it was limitting my moves.  I did however get a couple good spots where short stacks were pushing with weak hands and i was able to pick them off.  I was also making tons of laydowns when getting reraised and not playing any big pots where I wasn’t sure I had the best hand.  That got me up to 60K and then the big hand came.  I had AA on the button and a short stack pushes for 15k.  I just call and the small blind pushes for 60k I obv call and he has QQ while the short stack has JJ.  Im able to survive both to the river which was a Jack so I didn’t win the side pot but was able to win 40K on that pot and build to 100K.  It wasn’t all smooth sailing though.  I lost a 60K pot where I had 7 7 and board was 7 10 3.  He checks i bet, he raises I just call.  Turn is a King and he pushes all in I call and he has 8 9 and spikes a Jack on the river.  Normally in past tournies that woulda led me to tilt and lose but my patience prevailed and I just kept up the selective agression and was able to get back my stack in less then 30 minutes. 

The hands are a blurr now but I was at 300K and won a huge race with AK vs JJ that propelled me to 600K and let me get into the top 10 comfortably.  With 10 left I again was short but was able to win a couple big hands and pull back up to 700K.  By this time I was fortunate that the short stacks were not doubling and losing and It got to the final 6 very quickly.  There were 5.4mill chips in play and I had 700K when we got to the final 6 in 5th place.  The guy in 6th went out very quikly and I was by far the short stack with 5 remaining but guarenteed already my biggest pay day at 17k. 

Then I got lucky that when there were 5 left I was the short stack but the guy in 4th got it all in with 10 10 vs chip leaders JJ and JJ held to give me at least 4th place and 24K.  I then was extremely short stacked at 370K while next lowest was 1.1 mill and I had to make a move.  Here was the one bad beat I put on someone in the whole tourny

And heres how it ended.  I lost the race.  Not upset about how it ended or how I played.  I ran well through the tourny and just lost a coinflip at the end.  The $32k was my biggest score by far though and Im exstatic.
